No ! We are not the same

Translated from the original in Spanish

With marked astonishment, I have read several journalistic articles on multiple occasions that attempt to place Israel on the same level as Iran and Islamic terrorist organizations. And one must ask: do they do this out of antisemitism? Do they do it because they are directly or indirectly bought by petrodollars from organizations and/or countries that finance and arm Islamic terrorism? Do they do it because they have been brainwashed by the “progressive left”? Do they do it out of ignorance of the issue? Or do they do it due to a combination of factors? Israel is the only real democracy in the Middle East; no other Muslim country is a true democracy, although some simulate elections that are often fraudulent.

The Israelis would like to live in peace with our neighbors, for our children not to be at risk of being killed nor to have to kill anyone.

Iran is a terrorist state that arms and finances the Islamic terrorism of Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis commit and incite attacks in various countries with total disregard for their sovereignty. It is a purely religious state where security personnel that would murder a young woman for not wearing the hijab; it is the country where in 2023 the highest number of executions – 853 – were carried out and where every conceivable human right is violated; even theft can be punished with the death penalty, not to mention homosexuality. Similar behavior is followed by their acolytes Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.

In Israel, since its creation in 1948, the death penalty has been applied only once; to Eichmann, responsible for the transport of millions of Jews to Nazi extermination camps. In Israel, of a total population that does not reach 10 million people, there is a 20%, about 2 million Arab Israeli Palestinians, who have the same rights as any other citizen. In Israel, sexual diversity is respected. When Israel is about to attack a target where civilian casualties may occur, it informs civilians to evacuate beforehand (even if this means that the targets of the attack also evacuate) either through Arabic pamphlets dropped from planes or, more currently, through phone calls and/or WhatsApp messages to civilians. In many cases, it aborts an attack to avoid civilian casualties.

In contrast, since 2006, Hamas and Hezbollah have attacked with thousands and thousands of missiles and incendiary balloons directed at Israeli civilians, cities, towns, and farms near Gaza or, in the case of Hezbollah, the northern border.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are respected by many countries’ armed forces for their ethical values; Hamas is composed of Islamists filled with hatred who constitute the scum of humanity, kidnapping, torturing, raping, and murdering civilians or soldiers simply for being Jewish. Israelis do not dance in the streets or hand out sweets when the IDF kills terrorists; something the Palestinians do when they attack Jews, whether civilian or military, children, men, women, or the elderly; even if the attacker is detained or killed, they become a “martyr,” and Hamas then applies the so-called “payment for murder,” granting the terrorist’s family a lifetime monthly allowance.

I could continue pointing out many more differences, but I believe what has been said is enough to tell you: journalists, you have chosen a beautiful profession, it is a pity that some of you degrade it the way you do. Fortunately, there have been and still are great journalists who honor this profession.

COROLLARY: NO, NO, NO, WE ARE NOT THE SAME!
