Beautiful  Budapest, has also a sad history

While sharing my professional experience at a Cantors convention in Budapest, took a sight-seeing cruise on the Danube, this is the building of the parliament, between other beautiful architectural gems.

I was also able to visit the remembrance sites of our brothers and sisters massacred by the Hungarian Nazis, this mass grave in the gardens of the beautiful Dohany Synagogue and the memorial of the ghetto whose Jewish residents were taken in the last year of WW2 to Auschwitz, more than 600.000 souls and those who were not taken to the camps were shot at the bank of this river.

Relevant even more today, to be alert, when far right governments flourish all over Europe.

We should “NEVER FORGET” the pogroms and how they tried to wipe us out.

Again we should be conscious of the importance and support we need to give to the State of Israel with it’s vital existence now that our exile thank God is over, and nobody again can persecute us.

MAY THE MEMORY OF THOSE WHO DIED BE A BLESSING AND THEIR SOULS REST IN PEACE
